Questions

MANAGER”S REPORT AND MISC.
CONSENT AGENDA
Why are these insurance coverages worth such a large amount of budget and detailed contract on a Consent Agenda rather than a first reading with a one week waiting period?
C. A resolution authorizing renewal of a group vision contract with Delta Dental
1) Why wouldn’t the agenda item note a vision contract with TrueAssure rather than Delta Dental? This is inaccurate even though TrueAssure is a subsidiary.
E. A resolution authorizing agreements with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois
F. A resolution authorizing an agreement with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois for stop loss coverage
1) The explanation provides a “formula” for cost which appears to be $53,524 + ($54.31 X n) where n = the number of employees. How many employees are we talking about?
2) Library or other entity employees included in any of this?
3) What is the status of unmarried and/or domestic partners in the insurance coverages? What are the obligations?
4) By awarding both claims administration and stop loss agreements with the same provider along with aggregate group coverage, isn’t that an incentive to deny or limit claim coverage?
